Sonsbeek park is a short walk from our studio building. Although they were both temporary pavilions, they were both rebuilt in the Kröller-Müller sculpture park, also quite close to Arnhem.

The Werkplaats Typografie End of the Year Show 2017 was held over the first weekend in July, at the WT Studio building in Arnhem.

One of the early ideas for the show was to think through the idea of the pavilion. Taking on various meanings in different circles and at different times, the pavilion has characteristics that we were looking for in a structure. They are often experimental temporary spaces and generally used during summer. Those that we were especially interested in were designed and built in relation to the work inside and around them, ending up being a work in its own right.

Over the course of two days there was an exhibition and a public programme of events with various drinks, served from Fontana Bar, and book launches, in the bookshop. Including work, projects and books from Adriaan van Leuven, Auriane Preud’homme, Charlotte Taillet, Dorothee Dähler, Eloise Harris, Jin Kwang Kim, Joel Colover, Line-Gry Hørup, Luca Napoli, Malin Gewinner, Maria Mitcheva, Melina Wilson, Oliver Boulton, Robert Milne, Rosie Eveleigh, Sabo Day, and Yeliz Secerli.

The sceneography and design of the show was predominantly done by Joel Colover, Robert Milne and Maria Mitcheva. With help from Benjamin Roth during the building and installation of the show.

The photographs of the show were taken by Tabea Feuerstein.

This website was designed and built by Joel Colover.

With many thanks to Anniek Brattinga, Armand Mevis, Ilke Gers and all other staff and participants.
